THIS GAME REQUIRES A WEBCAM TO PLAY!
HandyWorld is a 2D action platformer which experiments with combining traditional controls with webcam-based hand motion controls. The game is in an alpha test state with prototype elements still in development.
- Run, jump, and stab your way through enemies in ten demo levels.
- Hand tracking and gesture recognition using only your webcam.
- Slow down time and use your hand to cast spells and interact with objects.
Controls - Keyboard
Jump - Space bar / Up arrow / W
Move left - Left arrow / A
Move right - Right arrow / D
Down - Down arrow / S
Turn on hand tracking - Enter / F
Attack - Right shift / Left shift
Interact with door - Period / E
Open menu - ESC / P
Controls - Gamepad
Jump - D pad up / Face button bottom
Move left - Left thumbstick left / D pad left
Move right - Left thumbstick right / D pad right
Down - Left thumbstick down
Turn on hand tracking - Left or Right shoulder button
Attack - Face button left
Interact with door - Face button top

Install instructions
Unzip the files and open the UE_HandyWorld_4_27.exe file.
If you suspect that the game doesn't track your hand, please try accessing the Camera test level from the startup menu. Within the Camera test level, If a screen showing your raw webcam feed fails to automatically spawn in a few seconds, the game is failing to access your webcam for some reason.
- Check if your webcam is properly connected to your computer and is set up properly for use.
- Make sure you are using the correct hand. The game only uses one hand at a time, and you can change between your left and right hand on the startup menu.
- Make sure another process isn't accessing the webcam already.
- Make sure the directory of the game file's placement does NOT include any non-English characters. ASCII characters only.
